Iranian Military Says It Shot Down a US Drone

 

The Iranian military says it shot down a US drone on Tuesday evening.

According to Iran's state news agency IRNA, the military said that at approximately 6:30 p.m. local time on Tuesday, air defense forces detected what it described as an enemy suicide drone that had entered the airspace of East Azerbaijan Province.

The statement added that the drone was intercepted and destroyed by units operating under Iran's Integrated National Air Defense System.

The claim has not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate response from US officials.
