Somalia and Kenya have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations after senior officials from both countries held talks on the sidelines of the 49th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council.
According to official statements released by both governments, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdisalam Abdi Ali, met with Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia W. Mudavadi, during the meeting.
The two ministers discussed recent developments related to migration and cross-border movement, agreeing to deepen cooperation on consular services and facilitate easier travel between the two neighboring countries.
They also reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas considered essential for regional peace, security, and stability.
The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by Somalia and Kenya to enhance diplomatic relations and address common regional challenges through closer collaboration.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation to promote economic ties, improve the movement of people, and support long-term stability in the Horn of Africa.
